The Occoquan Reservoir’s mostly predictable currents and flatness provide excellent water for head races; in addition, a fully buoyed sprint course is up from the beginning of the spring season through mid July.
2021 Sculling Camps are availble for sign-up!
OBC Camps are offered this summer to allow athletes to become confident single scullers. The coaches of the program have many years of single sculling experience both in rowing and coaching. The camps are small, only 6 athletes per camp, so sign up quickly - They fill fast! There will be an intermediate / racing skills camp the week before OBC hosts the Occoquan Masters Regatta, so come join us to learn how to do racing starts, steer head races, etc! The camps are designed for experienced sweep rowers (at least one spring season of sweep rowing) or scullers that have only rowed in 2x's or 4x's. The camps are not designed for complete novice rowers.

OBC hosts two regattas each year:
Members gather on Wednesday evenings (6:00pm generally) and Sunday mornings (7:15 in July – August; 7:30 September on) to row race pieces—sprint pieces in the summer, head pieces in the fall. These gatherings are informally coordinated rather than coached.
