Sunday morning, allow a full hour to arrive from remote parking. Other times, allow 40 minutes.
The best view is the open area below the boathouses. You can see about 1,500 meters there, including the last big turn. The grandstand shows the final 500 meters. The trail out to it is uneven and has exposed roots, so wear shoes you can walk in. Stay out of the boat-traffic area and out of the spaces marked for coaches and athletes.
Launch about 45 minutes before your race. Have your bow number on, and bring your oars down the hill with you. Race-day briefing covers the news of the day and the safety points. The full briefing is the PDF below.
Every competitor, or a parent for a junior, needs to sign the HOTO waiver. The athlete’s name and date of birth have to match the registration exactly.
Results post on CrewTimer as racing finishes.
Pay the attendant and follow their directions. Exact change in cash is fastest. Cell service at the park gate is unreliable, so do not plan on Venmo or another phone payment.
Handicap parking is Lot C, the small lot on the left after the gate. It fills quickly. Write to hoto@rowobc.org in advance if you need access.
